Helen Jean Parsons

Helen Jean Austin Parsons, 89 of Given, passed from this life and entered into Heaven on October 15, 2025 following an extended illness.

Jeannie was born June 13, 1936 in Given, daughter of the late Frederick “Happy” Austin and Beulah Casto Austin. She was a was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Most importantly, she was a Christian and a member of Grasslick Baptist Church. She was a 1954 graduate of Ripley High School and a member of the Eastern Star and the Kenna Grange.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Jearl Parsons.

She is survived by sons Rick Parsons, Memphis TN, Happy Joe Parsons (Stacy), Ripley, daughter Resa Whittemore, Kenna; grandsons Luke Parsons (Taylor), Jared Parsons (Emily), Seth Parsons (Samantha), Logan Parsons, Kelan Parsons, Quincey Whittemore and JR Whittemore. Great grandchildren, Landon, Crew, Jared II, Lily, Emmy Jo, Willa Shepard and Knox Parsons.; sisters Sharon Lanham and Nancy Randolph (Mike), along with sister-in-law and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral Service will be 5:00 pm on Monday, October 20, 2025, at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Charlie Bolen and Jimmie Compton officiating. Friends may call on the family from 4:00 pm until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home. Committal Service will be 12:00pm Tuesday, October 21,2025 at the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville, WV.
