Helen Irene Preston

Helen Irene Preston, 74 of Ripley, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter surrounded by loved ones on Friday, December 16, 2022 following a brief illness.

She was born March 4, 1948 in Pt. Pleasant, daughter of the late Hokey and Kathryn Hammack. She was a graduate of Ripley High School in 1966. She was a homemaker and a Christian who enjoyed spending time volunteering at Jackson General Hospital, quilting and spending time with family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, David Wayne Hammack.

She is survived by her daughter, Amy Shamblin and her husband Randy whom she thought of as a son; sister Dorothy Hammack; brothers Larry (Fonda) Hammack and lee Hammack; grandchild Haylee Shamblin (Travis).

A time of visitation with the family will be held from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.
