Herman Cyrus Woodrum, Jr. was born September 26, 1935, in Huntington, WV, the son of Herman Sr. and Winifred Sullivan Woodrum. He was a graduate of Van High School and later joined the United States Marine Corps, where he attained the rank of Sergeant. Buddy retired as an operator for DuPont in Belle.

Buddy was a faithful and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who prioritized his life with Jesus, his family, his church, and the Marines. He faithfully served Jesus alongside his wife for many years. Serving in the bus ministry at church was a passion he continued, even into his 80’s. He loved serving in the Marine Corps league and participating in the Honor Guard.

Buddy had never met a stranger and was that guy yelling the loudest at sports events, so everyone knew him. He loved to tell stories of his days in Boone County, where he was better known as “Ram.” His plethora of magic tricks, the infamous tickle game, and watching his favorite movie of all time, Centennial, are memories the children and grandchildren will treasure. Buddy loved to read James Michener's books.

Survivors include his children, Paul Woodrum of Port Orchard, WA, and John & Michelle Woodrum of Bainbridge; his grandchildren, Shellby & Matt, Collin & Riley, Alexa, Kylie, Emellia & Dustin, and Harrison; his great-grandchild, Maisy; and his siblings, Linda Gray and Karen Woodrum. In addition to his parents, Buddy was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara Barker Woodrum; his son, Mark Woodrum; and his siblings, Brenda Woodrum and Nora Bell Kuhn.
