Howard Denvil Harris

HOWARD HARRIS Howard Denvil Harris, 84, of Ripley lost the battle with sickness and pain July 1, 2012 at 7:14 a.m. at CAMC but gained the victory over earthly misery. Howard was born November 11, 1927 at Charleston, WV, son of the late Howard "Nip" and Lizzie Lovejoy Harris. He retired from the Kroger Company with 34 years of service and was a member of the Ripley Baptist Temple. Surviving: His wife of 29 years, Sheila J. Harris of Ripley; Daughter, Carolyn Hunt (Thomas) of North Carolina; Sons, Roger Harris of Charleston, WV and Rick Harris (Cathy) also of Charleston; Step-daughters, Cindy Mason (Patrick), Linda Duncan (Howard), and Tammy Curry (the late William "Billy Curry; Step-sons, Allen Lawhorn (Pam) and Steve Lawhorn (Sue); Eleven grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. While technically step-children, he loved them as his own. Funeral services are set for 11 a.m. Friday at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Interment will follow at the Fairplain Cemetery.
