Howard S Parker

Howard S. Parker Jr., 77 of Ripley passed away December 12, 2016 at Jackson General Hospital following a sudden illness. He was born October 27, 1939 at Parkersburg, a son of the late Howard and Edith Reed Parker. Howard was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He worked in the Insurance industry for several years and retired from the Jackson County Assessor’s Office as the Chief Appraiser. Howard enjoyed being with his family and fishing and hunting. He was an avid West Virginia Mountaineer fan! He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Sheila Spaulding Parker; sons Robbie (Julie) Parker of Louisville, KY, Dan (Kerri) Parker of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Chris (Alma) Parker of Dallas, TX; grandchildren Zach, Jacob, Rileigh, Maia and Alice; brothers Don (Tonya) Parker of Parkersburg and David (Cheryl) Parker of Marietta; sisters Flo Sheppard of Vienna, Sharon Cottrill of Pennsylvania and Beth (Frank) Rossi of Philadelphia, PA; sisters-in-law Diane Raines and Charlotte Spaulding along with several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Vince Riffe officiating and Veterans Rites provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. Friends may call from noon until the time of the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Following the service there will be a time of food and fellowship with the family in the Parsons-Vail Family Center located inside the funeral home. If you wish to bring a food dish to this event you may bring it the day of the service. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donation in memory of Howard to the Parkinson’s Foundation or St. Jude’s Children Hospital.
