Iris Joanne Clevenger, 97, of Evans entered into Heaven on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 at Jackson General Hospital following and extended illness.
Joanne was born February 9, 1925 at Fairmont, WV a daughter of the late William and Nettie Ann Vincent Reese. Joanne was a retiree of Kaiser Aluminum where she worked for 30 years. She was also a retired minister through the United Methodist Church Bachtel and Graham Charges, a former Miss West Virginia Senior and member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 17. Her hobbies included doing word searches, scrapbooking and reading her Bible.
Joanne is survived by her children James Puccio (Brenda) and Sherry Poole (Bob); grandchildren Erica Sigley, Mario Puccio, Cayla Defren and Alison Poole; great-grandchildren Mya Puccio, Megan Puccio, Trevor Hardesty, Peyton Hardesty, Joah Defren, Tanner Defren and Olivia Poole; great-great-granddaughter Addison Hardesty.
In addition to her parents Joanne was preceded in death by her husbands, Melvin Horne and Elton Clevenger; brother William Reese and sister Betty Lee Hayes.
Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Sunday, September 25th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Steven Hamrick and Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Visitation will be held from 1 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley.
