Isabelle Vandergriff

Emily Isabelle Vandergriff, 91 of Ripley passed away June 4, 2015 at Ravenswood Village Nursing and Rehabilitation Center following a long illness. She was born September 12, 1923 in Jackson County, daughter of the late Frank and Ada Myers Thomas. She worked several years in Dade City, Florida where she was manager of the Dime Store. She also worked for a time at the Big R Supermarket. She attended the Sidneyville United Brethren Church and later attended the Ripley Baptist Temple. She enjoyed playing the guitar. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clifford Vandergriff; Sisters Theo Balser, Elva Vandergriff and Velma O'Dell; nieces Marqueen Grimes and her husband Ernie and Imogene Kirby and her husband Wesley and great nephew Anthony Kirby. She is survived by a nephew, Quentin Balser and his wife Frances of Ripley; nieces Eileen King of Ripley and Ada Sue Hill of Elgin, IL and several nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be at Noon on Monday, June 8, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery near Ripley.
