Ivan Eugene Stalnaker, 88, of Statts Mill passed away Monday, April 29, 2019 at CAMC Memorial Hospital. He was born December 19, 1930 in Gay, WV a son of the late Bub Elwood and Jessie Litton Stalnaker. Ivan proudly served his country in the United States Army in the 2nd Armored Division during the Korean Conflict. Following his time in the military he worked in construction and was a member of International Union of Operating Engineers Local 132. He also worked and retired from Carl Kelly Construction. He was a deacon at the Vista Community Church, loved taking care of animals, especially his furbabies Precious and Mitzi. He also enjoyed working on the farm, gardening and his wood fire. He is survived by his wife of 67 years, Mamie Casto Stalnaker; Daughters Eugenia King (Charles) of Statesville, NC and Helen Wicker (Charles) of Statts Mill; Grandchildren Brian Wicker, Jason Wicker, Ashley Howley, Matthew King, and; great-grandchildren MaKenzie Howley, Hunter Wicker, Autumn King, Bryler Wicker, and Jenson Stegall. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Stalnaker. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Thursday, May 2nd at Siniaville United Methodist Church, Statts Mill, with Pastors Darrell Tackett and Ray Thomas officiating. Visitation will be at the church from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial with Military Rites performed by the Jackson County Honor Guard will follow in the Siniaville Cemetery.
