Jacqueline Fisher

October 11, 1934 — April 18, 2025

Jacqueline Gay “Jackie” Fisher, 90 of Goldtown, WV went home to be with her Lord and Savior on April 18, 2025, at her home, following a short illness. Jackie was born October 11, 1934 on Heizer Creek in Putnam County, WV to the late Denver and Juanita Fisher.

Jackie was a 1953 graduate of Sissonville High School. She took pride in staying home to raise her boys. She later worked at Kenna Elementary School in Jackson County, followed by Union Carbide, where she retired in 1985. A lifetime member of Fisher Chapel Church, she loved southern gospel music and sang alto in the choir, church groups including the Chapelettes, Choraliers, the Four J's, and many other 'pickup groups'. She was known for her home cooking, homemade biscuits, and throwing together a meal for any who visited. Her hobbies included scrapbooking, sewing, crocheting and quilting. Her favorite place to be was her home, where she enjoyed birdwatching by her front windows.

On November 5, 1954, Jackie married the love of her life, William “Bill” Fisher. They were happily married for 70 years and are now reunited in their Heavenly Home. Together, they created her biggest joy--her family.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by step-mother, Macel Good-Fisher; sister and brother-in-law, Aleen and Walter Ingram; sister and brother-in-law Conda and Dickie Martin.

She is survived by two sons, Charles Fisher of Goldtown, Gregory Fisher (Jerome Duhon) of Charleston; three grandchildren Christopher Fisher, Tyler Fisher (Chelsea), and Chelsea Hitt (Jim); six great-children, Adeline, William, Ava, Hattie, Charlie, and Clara.

Friends and family may call from 12pm until the time of service at 2pm, on Wednesday, April 23, at Fisher Chapel Church, Sissonville, with Pastor Mike Miller officiating. Burial will follow at the Floral Hills Garden of Memories, Sissonville. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Fisher Chapel Church.
