Jacqueline Rose Perrine

Jacqueline Rose (Friend) Perrine, 97 years old of Ripley, WV (formerly of Edgewater, Florida and Pinch, West Virginia) went peacefully home to be with her Saviour on July 17, 2026 at Ravenswood Village Care Center following a short illness.

Jackie was born July 16, 1929 in Ivydale, WV, and graduated from Gassaway High School. She was the daughter of William Melville Friend and Clara Faye (Ross) Friend Tyler. In addition to her parents, Jackie was preceded in death by her loving husband of 78 years on February 27, 2025, Osburn “Babe” Perrine. She was also preceded in death by sons Donald Ray and Douglas Wayne Perrine; brothers Bill Friend and Russell Friend and sisters Gerri Collins and Ruth West.

She is survived by her son Rick (Cindy) Perrine of Ripley, WV. She is also survived by grandsons Matt (Amy) Perrine of Petersburg, WV, Doug Jr. (Michelle) and Ricky (Cayla) and Bill Perrine, daughter-in-law Connie Perrine all of New Smyrna Beach, Florida. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, 5 great- great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Jackie and Babe had a long and blessed life together. They especially enjoyed the outdoors with many trips to Sutton Lake camping and boating with family.

Jackie enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Though she worked a number of jobs, she preferred being a stay at home mother and wife.

She was a born-again Christian, accepting Christ as her Savior alongside her husband, Babe, in July 1972 at Mount Pleasant Baptist Church in Elkview, WV. They faithfully served the Lord together most recently at Indian River Baptist Church in Edgewater, FL and Ripley Baptist Temple in Ripley, WV.

The family would like to extend our gratitude and appreciation to the doctors and staff of Camden Clark Medical Center, Jackson General Hospital and Ravenswood Village Nursing Home. Special thanks to Dr. John Snyder and his staff, Dr. Erin Randolph, Dr. Arif Malik, Jackson County EMS, Home Health Care and her Caregivers, Vicki Skeen and Cindy Asbury. Also the members of the Ripley Baptist Temple who have faithfully visited and helped with meals, prayers and encouragement.

A memorial service will be conducted on Tuesday, July 21, 2026 at 1:00 pm at the Ripley Baptist Temple. Visiting hours from 11:00 am to the time of service on Tuesday at Ripley Baptist Temple at 320 Charleston Drive, Ripley, WV, with Pastor Matt Perrine and Pastor Grant Garber officiating.
