Beloved husband, father, grandfather and friend, James Edward Archer, 79, of Sandyville passed away October 22, 2022 surrounded by his loving and devoted wife, Roxanne and our children enveloped in all our love as he passed from this world in his path to meet the Lord. Finally being free from the horrible disease of Alzheimers and dementia. Now he will remember the life he had.

Jim retired from the Operating Engineers Local 3 of California in 2006 and moved back to West Virginia and took up farming. His passion was mowing, tractoring and piddling and sweeping his garage, then running the tractor and having to sweep the floor again. He attended Gilmore High and graduated from Wirt County High School in 1963 before joining the Army Reserves. Jim was also a school bus driver, substitute mail carrier, worked at VISCO in Parkersburg and many years at Carl Smith Construction.
The family would like to sincerely thank the nursing staff and Dr. Snyder of Jackson General Hospital for the excellent care they took with Jim for the 4 days he was there. Enough words cannot express the care, compassion and support they gave to us. The made a difficult time more bearable and we will forever be greatful.
