James Edward Kennedy

James Edward Kennedy, 76, of Ripley passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at Ohio State Medical Center East following a short illness. Jim was born May 21, 1945 at Elkview a son of the late Harold “H.K.” and Mabel Dennis Kennedy. Jim retired from AT&T where he worked as a technician. He was also involved in the Masonic Lodge and was a former CWA Area Vice President representing the states of West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland. Jim is survived by his wife, Sandra Kennedy; children Mark Kennedy (Lisa), Kimberly Simon, Travis Kennedy (Deidre)and Melinda Moore; grandchildren Mark “Tony” Kennedy, James Kennedy, Andrea Moore, Ashley Kennedy, Kyle Simon, Lauren Moore, Madison Simon and Dale Simon; great-grandchildren Gavin Simon, Daisy Null and Salem Simon, Karson Kennedy, Reagan Kennedy, Addysin Kennedy and Cooper Kennedy; siblings Sandy McBride, Cathy Moore and Dawn Haynes. In addition to his parents Jim was preceded in death by a great-grandson Andrew James “AJ” Moore. In honoring Jim’s wishes he will be cremated with a private family service to be held at their convenience.
