James W. Pearson

James Wallace Pearson, 82 of Binghamton, NY, formerly of Jackson County, WV, passed away April 9, 2025, at Guthrie Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton, NY.

He was born December 31, 1942, in Jackson County, WV, son of the late George Wallace and Geraldine Kiser Pearson. Jim was a graduate of Dunbar High School and West Virginia State College. He taught school in Jackson County and was a former minister of the Grasslick Baptist Church at Kenna, WV. Jim served his Lord for 52 years as a pastor and transitional pastor in churches located in North Carolina, West Virginia, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Ohio, South Carolina, Michigan, and several churches in New York.

He is survived by his wife Lauri (Cooper) Pearson; daughter, Beth Ann Rossana and her husband John; son James Mark Pearson; sister, Karen Sue Setterstrom; niece Kelly Gandee (Ted) Toponak; also survived by four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Rose Legg Pearson; infant brothers, Ronald and David Pearson and a niece, Mika Gandee Brent.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 am, Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at the Goshen Cemetery, Kenna, WV. Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley is serving the family.
