James “Denver” R. Thomas, 79, of Kenna went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 9, 2024 at Jackson General Hospital.
Denver was born August 1, 1944 at Kenna, a son of the late James W. and Clarsey (Kelly) Thomas. He was a mechanic by trade and loved to work on all types of machinery and equipment. He also enjoyed farming. Denver will be remembered as a good Christian man who was a good husband and father and absolutely adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Denver attended church at the Allens Fork Community Church and was a trustee, deacon and class leader. He also attended church at Goshen Baptist Church.
Denver is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Thelma (White) Thomas; children Denver “Buddy” Thomas, Katie Miller (Curtis) and Patricia Whittington (Randy); brothers Delbert and Denny Thomas; sisters Edna Coon and Faye Wolfe. He is also survived by 9 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be 1 p.m. Saturday, July 20th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor David Spencer officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service.
