Mike Randolph

James Michael Randolph, 77, of Given passed away Sunday, October 19, 2025 at the Hubbard Hospice House in Charleston.

Mike was born April 26, 1948 at Statts Hospital in Charleston, a son of the late James Alva and Virginia (Balser) Randolph.

Mike worked in the safety industry for 20 years where he worked for Hartley Manufacturing. He was a past president of the West Virginia Safety Council and was awarded the Safety Professional of the Year. He also served as a process server for Jackson County, was a Jackson County Commissioner for 12 years and was always there to help coach local sports teams while his sons were growing up. It was an extreme honor to him to serve his community, and he was very proud of the accomplishments during his tenure, including the Greene Center as well as the new Sheriff's Office and the EMS station at Kenna. Mike was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army where he served in Saigon. He was an active member of the Ripley American Legion Post 107 where he served on the Honor Guard and was a lifetime member of Ripley VFW Post 5501. He was also an avid fisherman and loved watching WVU sports.

Mike is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Nancy (Austin) Randolph; sons Austin Randolph (Channing) and Michael Randolph (Carissa); granddaughter Taylor Randolph; sister Sharon Ratliff (Bobby) and a brother-in-law Jerry Good. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews as well as many other who called him Uncle Mike.

In addition to his parents Mike was preceded in death by siblings Gene Randolph, Brenda Randolph and Reva Good.

Funeral service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, October 25th at Waybright Funeral Home with Pastor Chris Skeens officiating. Visitation will be held from 12 p.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Jackson County Memory Gardens, Cottageville. Military Rites will be rendered by the Jackson County Honor Guard.
