James Roy Wines Obituary James Roy Wines, 75, of Sandyville, passed away Saturday morning, June 30, at his home following an extended illness. He was born on December 5, 1936 at Windy, Jackson County, son of the late Roy A. and Edith McPherson Wines. He was a retired construction worker and farmer. He built or assisted with many area homes and worked on construction of the interstate highway system, including I-77 through Jackson County. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Surviving: His wife of 51 years, Shirley Carmichael Wines; Daughter, Heather Sparks (Roger) of Sandyville; Brothers, Charles Wines (Toby) of Lubeck and Paul R. Wines (Doris) of Sandyville; Sisters, Helen Wyant (Gene) of Ravenswood and Sue Stockholm (Ted) of Swainsboro, Georgia. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Larry Wines, and his only granddaughter, Cassidy Danielle Sparks. Funeral services are set for Tuesday, July 3 at 2 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Seldon Angus and Tommy Nutter officiating. Interment will follow at Drift Run Cemetery, Sandyville.
