Janet Sue Denton

Janet Sue (Hatcher) Denton, 75 of Hendersonville, TN formerly of Kenna, and most recently of Sweetbriar Assisted Living in Dunbar, passed away May 23, 2019 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV following a long illness. Janet was born January 25, 1944 in Kenna, a daughter of the late Clyde and Inez Gandee Hatcher. She was a 1962 graduate of Ripley High School where she was in the Viking Marching Band and played Trumpet. Following High School she moved to Columbus, OH and worked for Nationwide Insurance. She met her husband of 38 years in Tennessee and they lived in Hendersonville where she worked as a Bookkeeper for Beaty Construction Company. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, TN and after she moved back to WV she attended the Fisher Memorial Church, Goldtown. Janet loved being outdoors and gardening. She loved traveling and helping those in need. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jon Larry Denton and a brother, Jerry Herman Hatcher. She is survived by her sister, D. Jean McConnell; brothers C.J. Hatcher, James Michael (Loretta) Hatcher and J.T. (Pam) Hatcher; also survived by nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, May 25, 2019 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Herman Robinson officiating. Burial will be in the Gandee-Stonelick Cemetery, Kenna. Friends may call from Noon until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
