Janet Lou (Jarrett) Fisher, 87 of Given, passed away June 18, 2025 following a long illness.
She was born November 27, 1937 at Charleston, daughter of the late Walter and Audrey Ryder Jarrett. Janet was a 1955 graduate of Sissonville High School. She was a devoted Christian and attended Emma Chapel Church and was a member of the Fisher Chapel where she played the piano. Her life was serving her Lord and Savior and taking care of her family. She enjoyed doing puzzle books.
She is survived by son, Randy (Shannon) Fisher of Given; daughters, Regina (Cody) Slater of Given, Renita (Jeff) Harrison of Pt. Pleasant and Renee (Ronnie) Shamblin of Kenna; sisters, Jean Ann Thomas of Kenna, Pam Johnson of Newburgh, IN, Darlene McKinsey of Waleska, GA and Cookie Ranson of Poca; brother and sister -in-law, Butch and Geebie Fisher: 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Lyle Eugene “Gene” Fisher and siblings, Eddie, Orella and Yvonne.
A memorial service and celebration of Janet’s life will be held at 7:00 pm Thursday, June 26, 2025 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Jerry Bonnett and Mike Miller officiating. A time of visitation with the family will be from 5 to 7 pm on Thursday at the funeral home.
