Janet Lee French

Janet Lee French, 85 of Ripley, passed away February 17, 2024 at her home following a sudden illness.

She was born September 22, 1938 in Sandyville, daughter of the late Dan and Grace Vannoy Thorn. He was a Foster Grandparent “School Granny” and loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, quilting and canning.

She is survived by her children, James (Aimee) French, Kimberly Womack, Jeff (Jeri) French and Kathy (Gary) Sommerville; brother, Danny Thorn and also survived by 19 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lila Wendelkin, Charlie Thorn and Larry Thorn.

Funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Pleasant Hill Cemetery, Given, WV. may call from 11:00 am until the time of service on Wednesday at the funeral home.
