Janet Sue Hamby

Janet Sue Stoffel Hamby, 76, of Ripley passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Moutain View Care Center in Ripley following an extended illness. She was born March 9, 1945 at Elkview, WV a daughter of the late Howard Stoffel Sr. and Juanita Mae (Jackson) Sharp. Jan was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter #17, volunteered as a pink lady at Jackson General Hospital. Most of all Jan loved spending time with her family and all her grandchildren. Jan is survived by her children Eddie Stoffel, Timothy Robinson and Julie Whyte; brothers Howard Stoffel, Steven Stoffel, Billy Sharp and Brooks Sharp. Jan is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 7 great-great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents Jan was preceded in death by brothers Earl Lee Stoffel, Bobby Dale Sharp and Roger Stoffel; sisters Donna Tyler and Patty Darlene Sharp. A celebration of Jan’s life will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday, July 11th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until the time of the service.
