Janet Lee (Dragoo) (Fisher) Williams

Janet was born February 24, 1934 to Cecil Dragoo and Orvia (Brotherton) (Dragoo) Bush. She was born and raised in Kanawha County and a 1952 graduate of Dunbar High School. After graduation, she moved to NY, where she lived until she returned home to the wild and wonderful state of WV in the late 1990’s.

She joined the NY Order of the Eastern Star in 1975 and made her way through the rankings to become Matron of the Oriskany chapter; a title she held multiple times. She was the OES Grand Representative to Wyoming from the Grand Chapter of New York, a lifetime appointment. When she moved back to WV, she obtained dual membership.

She is survived by a sister, Barbara; children, Cindy Lane, Teresa (Gary) Thomas, and James (Cora) Fisher; grandchildren, Robert Lane, Lumina (Angelo) Fioravante, Mary (Steven) Heilmann, and Steven Thomas; great-grandchildren Andrew, Austin, and Alexis Heilmann.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Fisher; second husband Harry Williams; special companion Jesse Nicotera; a granddaughter, Catherine Lee Thomas; a son-in-law, David Lane; and half siblings Gertrude “Tommy” Dragoo and Cecil Dragoo Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 6:00p.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley, WV with an honorary service from the Jackson County Order of Eastern Star. A private burial will be at Emma Chapel Cemetery in Liberty, WV.
