Janice Lynn Goff

Janice Lynn Goff, 75, of Ripley passed away peacefully on Monday, October 16, 2023 at her home following complications of bone and breast cancer.

She was born October 26, 1947 in Charleston, a daughter of the late Ivan “Ike” and Alice (Combs) Strickland.

Janice worked as a cook for Jackson County Schools and retired with 30 plus years of service. During her tenure she worked at Gilmore Elementary, Ripley Elementary and Ripley High School. She was also a member of the VFW Women’s Auxiliary. Most of all Janice enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren who were all very special to her.

Janice is survived by her sons James Anderson (Dawn) and David Anderson (Penny); brothers Randy Strickland (Barbara) and Stanley Strickland (Melanie); grandchildren Autumn Anderson, Noah Anderson, Levi Anderson, Caleb Watson, Nathaniel Anderson, Bridgette Anderson and Nicholas Anderson and great-grandchildren Journee Painter and Raelynn Alford.

In addition to her parents Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Goff; brothers Ernest “Jack” Strickland, Tony Strickland and Conrad Allen “Fuzzy” Strickland and sisters Sharon Curry and Brenda Strickland.
