Janie C. Smith

Janie Carol Smith, 91, of Nashville TN passed away June 24, 2024 in her sleep of natural causes. Janie was born in Southern Virginia and lived most of her life in Jackson County WV. She was a trained Lab Technician and retired from Jackson General Hospital in Ripley WV. Janie lived her last few years in Nashville TN.

She is predeceased by her parents Roy and Nancy Griffitts, her husband Fred and daughter Leslie Smith Newton (Jim).

Janie is survived by one son Todd Smith (Cheryl) two grandchildren Zack Newton (Jenny) Ashley Newton Byrd (Brent) and seven great grandchildren.

Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 pm Monday, July 1, 2024 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Rick Perrine officiating. Burial will be in the Jackon County Memory Gardens, Cottageville. Friends may call on the family from 1:00 pm until the time of service on Monday at the funeral home.
