Jeffrey V. Halstead

Jeffrey V. Halstead, 48, of Ripley passed away at home after a long illness on November 13, 2015. Born in Charleston, WV he was the son of Fairley V. and Betty Halstead. Jeff was preceded in death by his parental grandparents, Vincent and Ova Halstead, his maternal grandparents, Everette and Frances Shaffer, uncle Gary Halstead, cousin Joey Casto and a very special great uncle that he was very close to, Parvin Phillips. Jeff was a fun loving person who loved to laugh and joke. He would help anyone if they were in need and he adored his pets, especially his beloved Conan. Jeff was an excellent cook who loved to share his talents with others. He kept in touch with his former co-workers and loved to hear about them and their families. Jeff was a tender hearted person who fed strays and would have loved to have taken care of them all. One time he found a nest of baby birds and he took his hat and held it over them when it rained. Jeff will be greatly missed by family and friends. He also believed in the Bible's promise of a better place for all when Jesus rules as King. These promises are found at Revelation 21:3 and 4. He wanted all to hear and know about God's Kingdom. We thank Jehovah God that we had the chance to know and love Jeff. We will love and miss him until we meet again. Surviving family members include his parents Fairley and Betty Halstead; sister Kandell Anderson and her husband James; one nephew, Chandler Anderson and his wife Amanda; one niece Genann Anderson; one great nephew Coltin James Anderson and several Aunts, Uncles and cousins whom he loved very much. A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at 1:00 pm at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley.
