Jerrell "Jerry" L. Hamm, 67, of Leon, WV passed away May 22, 2016 in Ripley, WV. He was born May 18, 1949 in Gallagher, WV, son of the late Lawerence and Ruby Hall Hamm. Jerry was a lifetime member of the VFW in Ripley, Post 5501. He was a Vietnam Veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a lifetime member of the Disabled American Veterans. He was a retired coal miner after 31 years. Jerry enjoyed hunting, was an avid Jimmy Johnson NASCAR fan, and a WVU football fan. He loved being a paw-paw to his little buddy Ian. He is survived by his wife Carol Salser Hamm of Leon; Stepson David Stewart of Leon; Stepdaughter Kaylee Stewart of Fairplain; Step-grandson Ian Cottrell of Fairplain; Sisters Gladys Hudson of East Bank, WV and Valerie Wise of Danville, KY. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He will also be greatly missed by his two dogs Candy and Bella. In honoring Jerry's wishes he will be cremated with no further services.
