Jerry Dean Cavender, 77 of Kenna, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on March 17, 2023 at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, following an extended illness.
Jerry was born December 27, 1945, son of the late Hayford and Evene Pauley Cavender. He was a 1966 graduate of Stonewall Jackson High School, served his country in the US Army in Vietnam and retired from the US Postal Service. He enjoyed playing golf, camping, hunting and woodworking. He was a member of the Grace Community Church and loved being the photographer at Church Camp.
He is survived by his daughters, Marie Cavender-Moore and Angela Cavender; his siblings, Gloria Facemyer, Judy Chapman, Tim Cavender and Robin Butera; grandchildren, Nathan Roberts, Shelby Roberts, Bethany Roberts, Iliana Moore, Timothy “Alex” Lloyd and Bryanna Dickerson; great grandchildren, Jirah Lauterbach, Micah Martinez, Elijah Carbajal, Anayah Carbajal and Trapper Lloyd and his faithful dog, Misty.
In addition to his parent’s he was preceded in death by siblings, Peggy King, Larry Cavender and Carolyn Pruitt Cavender.
Funeral Service will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, March 21, 2023 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, with Pastor Tim Parsons officiating. Following the service, Military Rites will be provided by the Jackson County Honor Guard. Burial will be in the Tyler Mountain Memory Gardens, Cross Lanes. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
