Jimmie B. Wolford

Jimmie B. Wolford 83, of Ripley, passed away Saturday evening, November 2, 2013, at the Ravenswood Care Center following a long illness. He was born December 4m 1929 at Liberty, WV, son of the late Fred and Stella Smith Wolford. He retired as a millwright from Century Aluminum (Kaiser), loved to go camping in his off time and was a regular and faithful attendee at the stock car races at Fairplain. In addition to his parents, Jimmie was preceded in death by his loving wife of 43 years and mother of his three children, Flossie Harrison Wolford; Brothers, Homer, Robert, Buddy, Ralph and Clifford Wolford; Sisters, Mabel Landers, Helen Shamblin, Opal Bailey and Betty Miller. Surviving: His second wife, Lena Rawlings Wolford; Daughter, Delores Freshour (Nelson), of Kenna; Sons, Bob (Terry), and Michael (Ginger) Wolford, both of Sandyville; Sister, Nadine Harrison of Liberty; Step-children, Susie Povick, Linda Williams, Janet Hall and Rick Rawlings; Grandchildren, Bryant Freshour, Tracy Kelley and J.R. Wolford; Great-grandchildren, Dylan and Issac Freshour; Step-grandchildren, Robbie and C.J. Miller, Justin Povick, Alex Hall, Jennifer Deal, Megan Essary, Jacob and Alyssia Hall and Eric Williams; Step great-grandchildren, Joey Miller and Gavin Hall. A celebration of the life of Jimmie Wolford will be Tuesday, November 5, 2013 at 7 p.m. at Waybright Funeral Home with John Gunther, Darrell Tackett and Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Visitation will be prior to the service from 4-7 p.m. Graveside committal service will be Wednesday, November 6, 2013 at the Floral Hills Memory Gardens Mausoleum chapel at Sissonville at 11 a.m. Entombment will follow the service at the mausoleum. Jimmie's family would like to thank the staff at the Ravenswood Care Center for the loving care they extended to their dad and entire family during this difficult and trying time.
