Joan M. Crane

Joan M. Crane, 88 of Lakeland, FL, formerly of Charleston and Ripley, WV, passed away January 3, 2021 after a long illness. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frances Corbin and Darrell Corbin; husbands Cam Crane and Richard Cottrell; infant sons, Donald and Dwayne and adult son Dusty Cottrell. She is survived by daughter, Donna Lee Hardy of Lakeland, FL; daughter-in-law Sue; granddaughter Brittney: great grandsons A.J. and Eli of Redhouse, WV and brother Dwight Corbin. Joan retired from Stone and Thomas of Charleston and was a member of the Eastern Star, South Charleston Chapter. She and Cam attended the Ripley Tabernacle Baptist Church before retiring to Lakeland, FL and going to the College Heights United Methodist Church. In retirement she made quilts and volunteered in the Thrift Shop of Florida Presbyterian Homes where they lived. She also bowled on the senior WII Bowling League. She loved to cook, bake and make candy for neighbors and the staff of the home. A time of visitation will be held from 12:00 pm until 1:00 pm Saturday, January 9, 2021 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. After the visitation, a procession will leave for the Casto Cemetery, Fairplain where a graveside service will be held, officiated by Pastor Jeff Keffer.
