Joan Miller Stewart

Joan Miller Stewart, 82 of Rockville, MD, formerly of Spencer and Ripley, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2017 at the home of her son, Les, following a short illness. She was born October 20, 1935 at Spencer, daughter of the late Romeo V. Miller Sr. and Mary Caldwell Miller. She was a 1953 graduate of Spencer High School and worked as a Medical Secretary in Spencer for many years. Joan enjoyed painting, crafts and collecting antiques. She is survived by her children, Stephen Stewart and his wife Barbara of Rockledge, FL, Cynthia A. Stewart and her wife Aurora of Montreal, Canada and Les Stewart and his wife Nancy of Rockville, MD; her grandchildren, Ariel Tian Stewart, Jasmine Tian Stewart, and Stephen Stewart and a brother, Raymond L. Miller of Ripley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by two brothers, Romeo V. Miller Jr and Hardy Lee Miller. In honoring her wishes, Joan was cremated and a memorial graveside service will be held at 1:00 pm Sunday, July 22, 2018 at the Wright Cemetery on Charles Fork Road near Spencer where her cremains will be laid to rest beside of her parents.
