Joe "Fat Cat" Hamric

Joe “Fat Cat” Hamric, 82, of Ripley passed away at home on Monday, August 13, 2018 after a long illness. He was born June 22, 1936 at Charleston, a son of the late James and Ollie Hamric of Spencer. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Diane (Lowther) Hamric; Children Don Hamric, Joanna Phillips, and Misty O’Neal. Joe was a 1954 graduate of Spencer High School and a Veteran of the United States Air Force. He retired from Century Aluminum after 30 years of service. A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 18th at the First Presbyterian Church, 210 Cedar Lakes Rd., Ripley, WV 25271 with Pastor John Holland officiating. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in Joe’s memory to the First Presbyterian Church.
