Joe Parsons

Joe Parsons, 56, of Kenna passed away Sunday, August 25, 2024 at home following an extended illness.

He was born March 26, 1968 in Ripley, WV a son of the late Paul Arthur Parsons and Frances Ernestine (Snyder) Parsons Comer.

Joe will be remembered as an unselfish person who would help anyone in need. He cared about every animal from dogs to moths. He loved to read and write stories and music, fishing with his son and was an avid baseball fan with his favorite team being the Cincinnati Reds.

Joe is survived by his wife Tammy (Rutter) Parsons; son Cory Parsons and his wife Mariah; brothers Paul A. Parsons Jr. of St. Albans; Richard Comer (Cindy) of Atlanta and Edward Comer of Asheboro, NC; uncles John Snyder (Trish) of Evans, Roger Snyder of New Iberia, LA; aunt Patsy Dixon (Bret) of Round Rock, TX; brothers-in-law Wayne Beaver (Pam) of Charleston and Matt Rutter (Diana) of Ravenswood; sisters-in-law Rose Rutter of Ravenswood and Laurie Walker (John) of Bluffton, OH. Joe is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to his parents Joe was preceded in death by step-dad Gary Lee Comer; grandparents John and Verna (Rowley) Snyder, Rachel Katherin (Parsons) Starcher and Farmer Oshel Parsons and step-grandpa Cletus Starcher.

In honoring Joe’s wishes he will be cremated with a celebration of life to be scheduled at a later date.
