John Easter

John Easter, 78 passed away, Thursday, May 28, 2015 at home in Hedgesville, WV. John was born March 26, 1937 in Charleston, WV to Daniel "Eb" and Amanda VandeLinde Easter. He graduated from Ripley High School in 1956 and joined Kaiser Aluminum out of high school where he worked for over 40 years. He served his country honorably while in the US Army. On May 23, 1975 he married his wife Janet Carolyn Hoffman. John was a loving and compassionate husband, father, grandfather and friend. John is survived by his wife, Janet; two sons, Scott (Connie) Easter of Ripley, WV and Dustin (Aileen) Easter of the White Mountain area of NH; one step-son, Robert Zerkle in New Haven, WV; and two daughters, Amanda (Chris) Scheuch of Hedgesville, WV and Amaris (Justin) Landis of Atlanta, GA. John is also survived by six grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Robert, Kyler, Olivia, Isabella and Magdeline, two great-grandchildren, Aubrey and William, and close nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel "Eb" and Amanda VandeLinde, as well as one sister, Jaqueline Chancey and six brothers, Lawrence, Joe, Hubert, Roy, Denny, and Harry. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 2, 2015 on from 4:00 until 6:00 PM at Waybright Funeral Home, 511 South Church St., Ripley on Tuesday, June 2, 2015. A Memorial Service will immediately follow the visitation at 6:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home.
