John "Paul" Faber

John Paul Faber, 79, of Kenna passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at his home following an extended illness. He was born April 27, 1938 at Kenna, a son of the late Orva Hoyt and Thelma Matthews Faber. Paul was a career military man serving 4 years in the U.S. Marine Corps and 17 years in the U.S. Coast Guard. He was a member of Ripley American Legion Post 107 and enjoyed going fishing. Paul is survived by his wife of 18 years Dorothy Faber of Kenna; Stepdaughter Elizabeth Robinette (Jason) of Statts Mill; Step Granddaughter Candice Robinette; Brother William Faber of Kenna; Sister Leaile Rucker (Ronald) of Jasper, GA. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, James Faber. In honoring Paul’s wishes he will be cremated with a memorial service being held at 7 p.m. on September 29, 2017 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastor Ronald Rucker officiating. Military Rites will be performed by the Jackson County Honor Guard. In lieu of flowers the family ask that donations be made in Paul’s memory to Ripley American Legion Post 107, 107 Main St. W, Ripley, WV 25271.
