John D. Riley

John D. Riley, 78, of Parkersburg passed away Tuesday, March 4, 2025 at Camden Clark Medical Center Parkersburg.

He was born December 8, 1946 at Zona, WV in Roane County a son of the late Virginia Riley. He was graduate of Walton High School Class of 1965. John proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he served in the Vietnam War and was the recipient of a Purple Heart. He was a member of the Walter Mann Detachment of the Marine Corps League, Ripley American Legion Post 107, VFW Post 6669 of Ravenswood, Disabled American Veterans and Order of the Purple Heart. He also helped with veteran transports to appointments through the Disabled Veterans of America where he logged over 50,000 miles and was named a Volunteer of the Year.

A time of visitation will be held from 9-9:30 at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley on Tuesday, March 11th . Following the visitation a graveside service will take place at the Donel C.
