John Spainhour

John Martin "Sonny" Spainhour Jr. 81 of Ripley passed away October 9, 2014 at Jackson General Hospital. He was born November 28, 1932 in Kanawha County, WV a son of the late John Spainhour Sr. and Mildred Sullivan Spainhour. He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and retired from Kaiser Aluminum with 28 years of service where he was a Foreman in Inspection and Loading. He was Catholic by faith and was an avid Hunter, Fisherman and known as a "Wheeler Dealer." He is survived by his wife of 63 years Mary Ann (Lawrence) Spainhour; sons Mike (Cindy) Spainhour, Doug (and life partner Sharon Thompson) all of Parkersburg and Dave (Lola) Spainhour of Spokane, Washington; daughter Kay (Howard) Beegle of Ripley; brother Charles Spainhour of Aiken, SC; grandchildren Casey (and girlfriend Taylor Wilson) Beegle, Jonathan Gump, Joshua Spainhour, Brandon (Jackie) Spainhour, Stephanie (Brandon) Westfall and Emily Spainhour; one great granddaughter Mackensie Gump. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a grandson, Sean Spainhour; sisters Martha Hamilton and Mollie Selbe and a brother in law "Bud" Lawrence. Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Monday, October 13, 2014 at eh Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will be in the Pine Hill Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 2:00 pm until the time of the service on Monday.
