John Standish

John Charles Thomas Standish, 82, of Given passed away Wednesday, December 13, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospital.

John was born November 2, 1941 in Charleston a son of the late John Cyril and Helen Rachel (Mullens) Standish.

John was a loving husband and father and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. He also enjoyed working on cars, especially his 1978 Chevy Pickup, working on computers, collecting guns and hunting and fishing.

He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Sharon (Parker) Standish; son John K. Standish (Adda); daughter Laura Hannigan and a brother Stephen Standish.

A memorial service to celebrate John’s life will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 19th at the Emma Chapel United Methodist Church, Liberty with Pastor Mike Miller officiating.
