Joseph Luther Mccormick Jr.

Joseph L. McCormick Jr. Joseph Luther McCormick Jr., 78, of Ripley, left this earth to be with God Tuesday evening, January 15, 2013 at Jackson General Hospital following an extended illness. He was born January 9, 1935 in Charleston, son of the late Joseph L. and Emma Reed McCormick. He was a pipefitter and had retired from both Monsanto and Ravenswood Aluminum Corporation. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and served his country during the Korean War. The McCormick family lost a good and loving husband, father, paw paw and friend. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Jeffrey Scott McCormick I, and two sisters, Joann Gibson and Patsy Haas. Those left here with a lot of good and loving memories include: Wife, Loretta Gibson McCormick; Daughters, Jeannie Rinehardt (Reggie) of Norwood, North Carolina, Josie Aminsharifi of Stuart, FL, Beth Gerrason (David) of Kenna; Son, Greg McCormick (Kim) of Ripley; Brothers, Sonny (Dolly) McCormick, Buddy McCormick (Mary); Sisters, Delores Thaxton, Francis MCormick Tully and Brenda Lloyd (Archie); Special sister-in-law Sally Bowyer; Daughter-in-law Brenda McCormick of Ripley; Son-in-law Jahan Aminsharifi of Miami, FL; Ten grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. In keeping with his wishes, Mr. McCormick was cremated. Funeral services will be announced at a later date. Waybright Funeral Home is honored to be assisting the McCormick family.
