Joshua Glenn Hatfield

July 19, 1980 — March 14, 2019

JOSHUA GLENN HATFIELD, 38, of Harlingen, TX, was reunited with his earthly and heavenly Fathers on Thursday, March 14, 2019. Born on July 19, 1980, in Ripley, WV, he was the son of the late Jack Glenn Hatfield and Myra Jean (Hatfield) Ramirez. He graduated from Ripley High School with the Class of 1998. Josh enjoyed nature and outdoor activities, including camping, hiking, canoeing, and swimming. He was an avid traveler who spent the last few years of his life exploring the United States, as he bicycled from coast to coast. He was especially delighted by the New Mexico night sky and he treasured his time in the Town of Parker, AZ. Joshua was a tender-hearted adventurous soul, whose smile would light up the room. One of his special talents was his uncanny accuracy when making his bracket selections for the NCAA March Madness Basketball Tournament. He enjoyed playing basketball, as well and was a natural born athlete. Josh spent much of his time picking his guitar and studying Scripture. He was dedicated to his Christian faith and now, he is safe and secure with our Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. He is survived by his mother, Myra Jean Ramirez and step-father Jesus Ramirez, his sister, Jaclyn Nicole Hatfield, many aunts and uncles, and a host of cousins. In addition to his Father, he was preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Kennie and Bessie (Armstrong) Hatfield, maternal grandparents, Clarence and Wanda (Short) Lester, and an uncle, Patrick Mahoney. The Celebration of Joshua's Life will take place at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley, WV, on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at 2:00 p.m.; friend and Pastor, Andrew J. Sharp (Assemblies of God) officiating. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m., until the time of the Memorial Service. Special thanks to Jaime Vento from Angel Lucy's Funeral Home, Los Fresnos, TX and Sacred Park Crematorium, Inc., Weslaco, TX.
