Juanita "Edie" Casto

Juanita Mae (Edie) Casto, 70, of Kenna, left this earth to be with Jesus on May 9, 2019. Edie died at home after suffering a long battle with Huntington’s Disease. She was born in Statts Mills on May 12, 1948 to the late Fred and Emma Price. In addition to her parents, she was proceeded in death by three sisters, Macil Kyer, Delcia Casto, and Dorothy Fields. Five brothers, Cecil Price, Roger Price, Junior Price, Charles Price and Steve Price. Surviving, her childhood sweetheart and beloved husband of 55 years, Jennings “Arnold” Casto. Married in 1963, they moved to Canton, Ohio, returning home to West Virginia in 1980. Known to anyone who knew them as the ultimate example of love, sacrifice and commitment. She was the precious mother of Angie (John) Kerns and Richie (Missy) Casto. She was “Nana” to seven grandchildren. Hailey (Aaron) Beasley, Savannah (Bryan) Hunt, Justin (Kristen) Kerns, Devin Steele, Lathan (Kelsie Davis) Kerns, Dylan Steele, and Jordan Kerns. She had ten great grandchildren whom she loved and adored. Also surviving, sisters, Imogene Rhodes, Lorene Casto, and Carrie Jones. Many cherished nieces, nephews. Edie was a faithful Christian who worshiped at Plainview Missionary Baptist Church in Kenna, West Virginia. She could always be found singing God’s praises and was a former member of gospel groups The Spiritual Lights and The Son Seekers. The family would like to thank so many family and friends who have held us up in prayer. Thank you to Hospice Care for their help and comfort, with special thanks to Stephanie and Sharon for your kindness and care of our wife and mother. Funeral Service will be 3:00 pm Monday, May 13, 2019 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors Ray Thomas and Bradley Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in the Plainview Cemetery, Kenna. Friends may call from 1:00 to 3:00 pm Monday at the funeral home. Following the Burial, the family will receive friends for a time of food and fellowship at the Christian Fellowship Church Community Building at Kenna.
