Judy Lieving 70, of Ripley, WV, departed this life on Monday, March 9, 2026, at Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston, WV.
Judy was born June 3, 1955 in Gallipolis, Ohio, a daughter of the late Raymond Lieving and Frances Coleman.
Judy was an amazing giver in her life. She taught Special Education for over 30 years. She hosted 4th of July picnics for many years on her lawn along Main Street in Ripley WV. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir, was part of the historian committee, worked food pantry, cooked fair booth dinners, was the safety coordinator and posted prayer request to church members. While hospitalized, she was an outstanding witness to her steadfast faith in Christ Jesus. Judy had well over 100 visitors coming to offer prayer and support! She greeted each one with laughter and love. Each visitor would leave feeling blessed and much better than when they arrived. “No tears” was her motto! Judy never married, but her family and friends were extremely important to her. She loved spending time with her family and friends at various functions; graduations, band competitions, marriages and sporting events to watch her nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews do their thing!Judy was the heart of our family. She will be missed but we are celebrating, because we know where she is and we will be together once again!
Judy requested no service to celebrate her. She felt that she attended her Celebration of Life with each visitor who came to see her, prayed for her and shared in her joy, while she was ill. She is now with Jesus and singing in the Heavenly choir!
Judy is survived by her siblings, Sheila Roush husband Ralph, Mike Lieving wife Holly, Sue Gumm husband Jim, and Jane Zirkle.
In accordance with Judy’s wishes, she will be cremated. Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley WV, is assisting her family. Online memories and condolences may be shared with the family by visiting www.waybrightfunealhome.com
