Judy Ann Nelson, 77, Sandyville passed away Saturday, December 18, 2021 at the Hubbard Hospice House, Charleston. She was born June 26, 1944 at Sissonville, WV a daughter of the late William “Webb” and Mamie Hughart Moss. Judy will be remembered for being a strong prayer warrior who always thought of others. She was also an avid reader who enjoyed many good books, especially her Bible. Judy is survived by her sons Ronnie and Edward Nelson; brother Gary Moss; grandchildren Justin Barnett, Jesse Barnett, Matthew Nelson, Mark Nelson, Bryan Barnett, Abbi Nelson, Miranda Gillispie and Tori Vannoy; great-grandchildren Koda Barnett, Ryder Barnett and Kaysen Nelson-Sullivan. She is also survived by brothers and sisters-in-law Monroe Jones, Dorcil Halstead (Les), Beulah Myers (Virgil), Larry Nelson (Joy), Janet Ball (Phillip), Charles Nelson, Roy Nelson, and Roger Nelson In addition to her parents Judy was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Dee Nelson; daughter Lisa Vannoy; brother Kenny Moss; sisters Deloris Comer (Rob), Garnet Wright (Joe), Evelyn Jones and Emily Reed (Harry) and daughter-in-law Misty Gillispie A funeral service to celebrate Judy’s life will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday, December 21st at Waybright Funeral Home with James Balser officiating. Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the Independence Cemetery, Sandyville.
