Kathryn H. Mackenzie

Kathryn Hanning Mackenzie, 97 of Ripley, passed away March 24, 2018 at Jackson General Hospital following a long illness. She was born August 3, 1920 in Jackson County, a daughter of the late Homer Samuel and Rosa Lewis Hanning. Kathryn was a retired Executive Secretary and attended the Calvary United Methodist Church. She was a member and past President of the GFWC Woman’s Club of Ripley. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Mackenzie, her sister, Viola H. Kirkpatrick and three step children. Survivors include stepson, Lawrence Robert MacKenzie of Florida; nephew Roy Samuel Kirkpatrick of New Hampshire. She is also survived by several step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Thursday, March 29, 2018 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Rev. Charles Hicks officiating. Burial will be in the Fairplain Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 11:00 am until the time of service on Thursday at the funeral home.
