Kathy Lynn Young

Kathy Lynn Young, 57 of Ripley passed away January 25, 2017 at Camden Clark Medical Center following a long illness. She was born August 21, 1959 at Parkersburg, daughter of the late John and Virginia Gorrell Maple. She was a cook at Cedar Lakes Conference Center for 20 years and enjoyed helping others especially Veterans organization and their functions. She loved the ocean and gong to the beach but the joy of her life was her family and the special bond she had with her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband of 22 years, Steve Young; daughters LaKrisa Rhodes and Laurie Casto and her husband Jeff; son Jason Young; grandchildren Christopher Casto USMC, Denver Young, Russell Young, Justin Casto, Austin Rhodes, Dalton Young and Katelyn Maple; mother-in-law Evalina Young; brothers and sisters-in-law Sharon and Ricky Watson and Joe Young and his companion Sandy Shepherd. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sister Barbara Hoschar and father-in-law Denver Young. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Ed Austin and Mike Hatcher officiating. Burial will be in the Young Family Cemetery, Ripley.
