Kay Harrison

September 12, 1959 — April 16, 2021

Elizabeth Kay Harrison of Kenna, WV "left this old world" and went to be with the Lord on April 16, 2021 at CAMC after being too stubborn to listen to her family and living her life to the fullest. She was know to many people as "Miss Kay", mom to my brother and I (and whatever other kids we drug home for her to feed), but, the most important people in her life called her Nana. She was always found at the ball field with a grandchild (probably yelling things she shouldn't be at a coach or ref), at the race track (again yelling at some certain driver to move on) ,at the fishing bank catching some little fish that she thought was a monster or going to bingo to appease her terrible need to gamble. It took her many years to find a career she enjoyed but at the age of 59 she found her calling of being a couch potato. She found the love of her life 16 years ago. They spent most of thier free time camping, fishing, playing bingo and arguing. (She was always right) She had 2 children She loved unconditionally. No parent had sacrificed more for thier children than she had for her kids. Being a Nana was the most rewarding part of her life. She not only had many biological grandchildren, but many of thier friends called her Nana also. She was everyone's Nana. She is survived by her husband of 16 years Ronald Harrison of Kenna, WV. Her 2 children Amber (Curtis) Dorsey of Broadway, VA and Bradley (Kayla) Syner of Ripley, WV. Her 2 step-children Crystal (Mike) Sutton of Sisterville, WV and Eric Harrison of Kenna, WV. She had 10 grandchildren, Brett Boner of Evans, WV, Nathan Boner of Milwood, WV, Taylor Boner of Broadway, VA, Christopher Jenkins of Kenna, WV, Landon Syner of Kenna, WV, Kaylee Syner of Kenna, WV, Conner Sutton of Sisterville, WV., Dylan Dorsey, Ethan Dorsey and Parker Dorsey all of Broadway, VA She is also survived by her 2 sisters. She was preceeded in death by her mother and father Reba and King Garnes of Sissonville, WV, her sister Jean Garnes of Ripley,WV and brother Hershel Harrison of Huntington, WV. Services will be at Waybright Funeral Home in Ripley WV on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. Visitation from 1 to 3 pm with funeral services by AL Mendez following at 3:00 pm. Burial services will be in Goshen cemetery in Kenna. Memorial Donations may be made in Kay’s name to American Cancer Society.
