Kenneth Michael "Mike" Clendenin, 56, of Ripley, passed away on December 4, 2012 at Eldercare of West Virginia, Ripley following a long illness. He was born on September 8, 1956 son of the late Kenneth and Erma Cox Clendenin. Mike worked as a CNA for Eldercare and formerly with Cedar Ridge Nursing and Rehabilitation. He was a well-known Referee in Basketball for High School, Middle School and Youth Leagues. He was an avid WVU Mountaineer Fan. He is survived by his loving wife Janie Smith Clendenin; 2 daughters - Maranda Smith of Ripley and Alexis Smith of Ripley; sister - Mona Hall and her husband Tom of NC; 2 nephews - Jimmy Shaffer of Charleston, WV, Timmy Minnenger of Charleston, WV; Uncle and Aunt George and Nancy Allen. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Toni Ball. Funeral Service will be 1 pm Friday, December 7, 2012 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley. Burial will follow in the Morgan Cemetery, Ripley. Friends may call from 11 am until the time of the service Friday at the Funeral Home.
