Kenneth L. Garner passed peacefully on November 18, 2024 after a short illness.
Ken was born at home in Hundred, WV to Lloyd and Patricia Garner on March 16, 1949. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his beloved brother Rusty Garner and sister Shirley Garner-Price whom he missed immensely.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Barbara Goff Garner of Clendenin, WV; son Jason Garner (Jill) of Clendenin, WV; daughters Angela Garner of Clendenin, WV, Brittany Anderson (Scott) of Coolville, OH, and Heather Poole of NC; a brother Eric Garner (Janet) of Mannington, WV; and two nieces whom he loved dearly, Kimberlee and Jessica. He is also survived by seven grandchildren Ryan, Tyler, Peyton, Brianna, Preston, Angelica, James; and 3 great-grandchildren Haylee, Brendan, and Alexia; and many other friends and family.
Although Ken spent 18 years in the Army and was well-known as a tough cookie during his 27 years with the U.S. Postal Service, to his children and grand-children he was funny, tender-hearted, and supportive. Ken enjoyed numerous hobbies throughout his life including hunting, trout fishing, golf, and served as an excellent Monday morning quarterback. All of these talents were uniquely taught to his children and are carried on today proudly by his grandchildren as well.
Together with Barbara, Ken was able to create a unique and incredible childhood for his children and a most wonderful life for his family. He’ll be remembered as a true family man; a loving, thoughtful and devoted father, husband, and grandfather.
