Kenneth Ray Turley

Kenneth Ray Turley, 83, of Given passed away at his home on May 14, 2015 after a long battle with cancer. He was born October 2, 1931 in Dunbar to the late Ray and Ruth Roush Turley. He served in the United States Navy from 1951 to 1955. He retired from Smith Transfer with 39 years of service and with the State of West Virginia Attorney General Office as an investigator for five years. Ken enjoyed racing midget sprint cars and was an avid outdoorsman and black powder enthusiast. He also enjoyed square dancing and was well known dance caller in the area. He loved spending time with his grandkids. Ken is survived by his wife of 58 years, Donna Chambers Turley; his children Wade Turley and his wife Kelly, Amy Simpkins and her husband Steve; grandchildren Levi Simpkins, Gracie and Hallie Turley; sister June Turley Lanham of Dunbar and several nieces and nephews. Funeral Service will be 2:00 pm Sunday, May 17, 2015 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Warren Baker officiating. Burial with Military Rites provided by American Legion Post 107 in Ripley will be in the Grasslick Cemetery, Pleasant Valley Road, Kenna. Friends may call from 5 to 8 pm Saturday at the funeral home.
