Larry Allen Richards

Larry Allen Richards, 72, of Ripley went to his heavenly home on Thursday, January 19, 2023 at CAMC Memorial Hospital with his family by his side.

Larry was born May 19, 1950 at home in Sandyville, a son of the late Hubert and Violet Shockey Richards.

He enjoyed doing farm work and mowing yards, working on lawn mowers and helping his friends with their projects. Larry loved spending time talking on CB Radio with friends where he went by the handle Jackson County Red Bird.

He is survived by his step-daughters Donna Richards of Sandyville and Jenny Evans (John) of Evans; brothers Earl Richards of Sandyville, Jim Richards and Denzil Richards both of Ravenswood, Travis Richards of Sandyville; sisters Linda Richards of Sandyville, Lorna Richards of Ravenswood, Margery Richards of Ripley, Trissa White and Tonya White both of Sandyville. Larry is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents Larry was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Miriam Richards; brothers Delmer Richards, Johnny Richards and William Richards; stepsons Albert Cook, Robert Cook and Billy Cook.

Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday, January 25th at Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Ronald Shamblin Sr. officiating. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. and an hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery, Sandyville.
