Larry R. Shamblen

Larry Randall Shamblen, 80, of Gay passed away Wednesday, June 10, 2026, at his home following an extended illness.

Larry was born on August 3, 1945 at Kenna, WV a son of the late Randall and Mae (Raines) Shamblin.

Larry was a Ripley High School graduate and would go in to serve in the U.S. Army Reserves. Larry enjoyed farming and worked for 40 plus year as a dairy farmer with his family at the Shamblen Dairy Farm. He is also enjoyed gardening and spending time with his four-legged companion, Chubby.

Larry is survived by his wife of 32 years, Myrtle (Winters) Shamblen and his brother, Gary Shamblen.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Danny Cummings and Jeff Bode for everything they did for Larry during his illness, it is greatly appreciated.

In honoring Larry’s wishes a graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, June 13th at the Otterbein Cemetery in Evans with Pastor Danny Cummings officiating. A procession will be leaving from the funeral home at approximately 10:30 a.m. Saturday for those that would like to follow to the cemetery.
