Larry Dean Smith, 73 of Sandyville, WV and Florida departed this life on November 22, 2016 at home having fought a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. Larry was born January 6, 1943 in Leroy, WV at home to the late Carl E. Smith and Virginia “Ginny” Utt Smith. Larry is survived by his wife Sue Killingsworth Smith whom he met in Huttonsville, WV while working a construction job in that area. Larry and Sue were married on July 4, 1969 at Huttonsville. Also surviving are a daughter, Dean Ann Cox and grandchildren Dr. Jason Cox and Alexis Ann Cox, FNP; two brothers, Eddie Burl Smith and Donald “Bub” Smith; stepmother Clarie Smith and mother-in-law Lelia Killingsworth whom resides with them. A Celebration of Larry’s Life will be at 4:00 pm Saturday, November 26, 2016 at the Waybright Funeral Home, Ripley with Pastors David Johnston and James Campbell officiating. A time of visitation will be held from 10 am to time of service (4pm) on Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be private. A brochure of Larry’s Life Events will be given out at the funeral home and there will be a special place to post a written remembrance about him. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in memory of Larry are welcome to be given to two churches he loved and supported, First United Pentecostal Church, c/o Pastor David Johnston, 3340 Hemlock Rd, Ravenswood, WV 26164 or Apostolic Pentecostal Church of Winter Haven, c/o Pastor James Campbell, 480 B Moore Rd., Haines City, FL 33844. The family would like to extend a special thanks to caregivers Gerry Hensley, Ginny Gandee, Dee Dee McCauley, Tracy Staats, Dr. Ronald Green and Staff, Bobby Wolford, Todd Wilkinson, James Spencer and many others.
